Fukushima Daiichi Drainage Canal Leaked To Sea
The contained drainage canal system intended to capture contaminated water before it could leak out to sea has leaked. The “K” drainage canal that had been spliced into the larger system used for controlling contaminated water runoff from up on the hill leaked to the sea. “K” drainage is the system that handles rainwater from the buildings in the reactor block area.
TEPCO cited these water readings from the point of the leak.
cesium 134: 20Bq / L
cesium 137: 67Bq / L
all beta: 110Bq / L
There has not been any rain at the plant for days so the source of the water is a mystery.
