TEPCO To Resume Fukushima Unit 1 Cover Removal Work In Late July
TEPCO announced work to remove the unit 1 cover will resume on July 28th and take about 4 months to remove the six roof panels. Work was stopped in part when they discovered the balloon plug for the equipment hatch had been dislodged by concrete rubble. Engineers decided to let work resume without a major change to the balloon. TEPCO did not explain why it would take four months to remove the roof panels.
