More Citizens In Japan Fight Back Against Nuclear Power

Japanese women are planning to protest in front of METI October 30th to November 5th. They are demanding that children be properly evacuated from the contaminated ares and that reactors not be restarted.

Citizens groups are beginning the process to put nuclear power to a referendum vote in Tokyo and Osaka. The group said they targeted the two cities because of the cozy relationships between regional power companies and the local government of those cities. They also plan a similar referendum in Shizuoka, since that area is close to the Hamaoka nuclear plant.

Fukushima evacuees are angry over the overly complicated process for compensation. So far 10 lawsuits have been filed against TEPCO but little has been done to improve the compensation submission process.
