UK Tries To Reclassify Nuclear Power As Renewable Energy
The UK’s energy policy has been a political tangle for years. Issues around the MOX plant and Sellafield frequently involve politics, accusations of favors for industry and leaks to the press.
In a new twist it was leaked to the press that there is a plan to try to reclassify nuclear power as a “renewable energy source”. This would put nuclear power on par with renewable energy in the UK for subsidies and climate change credits.
